SONY Earth-Orbiter CRF-5090 Transistor Radio 9-Bands FM/AM/LW/AIR & Shortwave

Description

Vintage SONY Earth-Orbiter Model CRF-5090 Transistor Radio made in Japan around 1972.  This is a 9-Band radio covering AM/FM/AIR/LW & SW.   Carrying handle is nice and strong; the antenna is complete and straight; the dial lights work and the red tuning indicator LED also lights up when tuned to a station.  Original battery tubes are included - no manual or AC cord - just the radio as shown in the pictures.  The side padded panels have a slight bend due to aging as shown in the pictures.  Tested and works great on the FM band - no reception on the other bands except a clicking sound when the band switch is rotated, most probably needs the switch to be cleaned with a contact like deoxit - the volume and other rotary controls would also benefit from the contact cleaner.  Please look at all the enlarged pictures to give you an idea as to its condition and also part of description.  This radio is being offered as/is due to the minor defect as mentioned in the description for parts or repair as needed with no returns.  Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
