    Description

    Kevin Menard's Telepath
Effect:   This creation was inspired by an effect invented several years ago by the late Frank NIcholas who was active in magical affairs in the Rhode Island area.   He called it "The Whispering Queens."  The feat has been updated to bring it into the present era of ESP demonstrations of mentalism with the procedure being improved and simplified.   The performer displays four plaques, each of which contains the standard ESP symbols and other designs which lend themselves to the making of "mental impressions."  There are 16 different symbols on the cards, four on each, and the symbols are repeated on the reverse side of the plaques but in a different order.  One plaque is passed slowly before a spectator's eyes with the request that he silently choose one symbol and then concentrate his thoughts upon it.  The procedure is repeated with three other spectators, the plaques being mixed each time.  The mentalist returns to the first spectator and displays the reverse side of the plaques one at a time requesting him to stop him when he sees his selected symbol.  The performer pretends to read the helper's mind and successfully draws a picture of the mentally selected symbol on a school slate (not included).  The procedure is repeated with the reamining three spectators until all have had their minds "read".
