    Description

    I have for sale a large black & white silk ribbon that reads in German, In Memory Of The German Heroes 1870.  The ribbon is 5 3/4 by 16 1/4 inches and it was made by the Muhll, Burgy & company of Basel, Switzerland.  The ribbon is in a very high grade circulated condition, near uncirculated.  It does have a light stain at the lower right and it has a light crease in the center.  At the top it shows a crowned figure of Germania holding a laurel wreath in each hand.  She is flanked by two seated female figures, one holding an urn and the other a lowered torch.  On the ribbon is inscribed ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE DEUTSCHEN HELDEN 1870.  Below the ribbon in the center it shows the bust of Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria and he is surrounded by six other bust.  They are Alfred Graf von Room, Crown Prince Albert of Saxony, Crown Prince Frederick of Prussia, Prince Frederick Charles of Prussia, Helmuth von Moltke and Otto von Bismarck.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables.  (17,200)
