This example has a fine quality image, with frame and backing showing typical wear. such images.  The image is brighter than the photo indicates.
One of the most interesting items of the flood of souvenirs produced to promote the fair was a set of small format orotone photographs of fair buildings. Orotones are positive gold-toned photographic images printed on glass, and examples in good condition by noted photographers with compelling images done in larger formats routinely sell for thousands of dollars at auction houses like Swann's or Christie's.  An example would be the Native American - themed orotones produced by Edward S. Curtis around 1900.
Although this is not one of those high-end photographs,
it is the least expensive example of an orotone that can be found on the market.
The image measures 3.75 inches by 4.75 inches in a wooden frame with outside dimensions of 4.75 by 5.75 inches.  These typically come with a rather shoddy and loosely attached brown cardboard backing stamped with the name of the building pictured.  Others in the series include photos of the Electrical Building,  the Travel and Transportation Building, and a reconstructed replica of Fort Dearborn.
