    Description

This elongated U. S. Lincoln cent is a souvenir of the 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair - the Century of Progress International Exposition.  The well-defined image represents the Fort Dearborn Block House (built in 1803 at the site of the future city of Chicago), with the words
    BLOCK HOUSE -
    FORT DEARBORN
above the image and the words
    WORLD'S FAIR CHICAGO 1934
    at the bottom.
This elongated cent was very well-made, with all of the image and wording being bold and with very good detail.  The cent obverse remains visible on the back.  This item
    measures approximately 37 x 21 mm (1-7/16 x 13/16").
This elongated cent is in very fine condition, with no apparent wear or damage, with toning, and it remains bright.  Much of the original bright copper color remains, and a coin collector would describe this item as 'red and brown.'
The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description.  NOTE:  The photos turned out hazy.  The actual item is much brighter, has much of the original reddish copper color, and is much more attractive that evident in the photos.
