Up for sale is a vintage 1933 souvenir coin from the Chicago World’s Fair (also known as the Century of Progress International Exposition).  Fair visitors saw the latest wonders in rail travel, automobiles, architecture and even cigarette-smoking robots!  The exposition emphasized technology and progress - a utopia, or perfect world, founded on democracy and manufacturing
This wonderful coin was produced during the depths of the Great Depression, a difficult time for many Americans.  The reverse of the coin shows the layout on the fairgrounds with lake and sky in background

to help them forget about their everyday challenges
An amazing souvenir coin from nearly 90 years ago!
The coin is in very good condition, with sharp detail and luster
Size -  bigger than a quarter, but a little smaller than a half dollar, just under 1 1/4 wide
