Description
This1933 Chicago World’s Fair art deco pottery stein
measures about 6-1/2” tall. To my knowledge there were 4 colors made, gold/yellow, cream and green and brown with the last 2 being the most common. This stein has no flea bites or chips, hairlines or cracks, stains and crazing. These were made along with countless other items and offered as souvenirs during the fair in 1933-34 to celebrate “A Century of Progress” in Chicago. It’s hard to find “perfect” examples of these as most I’ve seen have “flea bites” or some other problem. This one is unusual in that it’s professionally engraved with the name “Souran Tashiian” up close to the rim obviously for the person attending or maybe as a present for someone. Thanks for looking.
