Description
This item is a souvenir of the 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair - the Century of Progress International Exposition. It is a somewhat scarce lapel pin made from an elongated U. S. wheat cent, with an image showing the Sky Ride at the Expo, the wordsA CENTURY OF PROGRESS SKY RIDE
above the image, and the words
CHICAGO - 1933
at the bottom.
The elongated cent was very well-made, with very good detail in the image and wording. The cent reverse design is visible on the back of this item. The attachment pin has a hook-type catch. This lapel pin
measures approximately 37 x 20 mm (1-7/16 x 13/16").
This elongated cent is in extremely fine condition, with no apparent actual wear. The front remains a bright copper color, and the back is toned. The attachment pin remains strong.
