Description

Attention 1933-34 Chicago World’s Fair collectors (and collectors in general).
I challenge you to find this piece either on Ebay or anyplace on the internet.
You can find a number of cheap “made in Japan’ plated bud vases in poor/worn condition for this World's Fair.
Considering its excellent condition, this was probably kept by a collector.
The base and upper rim are perfectly round and have no scratches.
According to the marks on the underside (crown, W and a lion), it was produced by the Watson Company of Attleboro, MA.
Go to:
http://www.silvercollection.it/USASILWATSON.html
and the first photo will match the marks on the underside of the vase.
The front top of the vase has the Century of Progress shield with the comet and the dates 1833-1933.
It’s 6.25 inches tall and the underside says: Sterling Silver, B74, 6, 1 oz, weighted.
It weighs about 72 grams.
I believe that this means that there is 1 ounce of sterling silver making up the vase and the weighting material (to stabilize balance) in the base makes up the remainder of the 72 grams.
Study the photos carefully since it is being sold as is; I am not an expert and did the best I could to describe it.
